Concept Shop

TGIF ( Thank God It's Fridays )
We've been always wondering where to go on Friday nights,
so we came across this restaurant/cafe that attracted us as on
Fridays' it meant something to the people who go to this
restaurant/cafe.

So we went in for our case study, and noticed that people;
customers; love taking photos of the interior space in the
restaurant/cafe. There are also black&white photographs
hanging on the wall which attracted us the most. We also
noticed that the others also tend to look and those hanging
photographs too.

We learnt that nowadays, people aint going to cafes just to grab a coffee or take a break but instead,
they look out for interesting concepts and the story behind of the cafe and that attracts them to come back too.

In the restaurant/cafe, the people in there is mostly adults
cause mainly because of the pricing of the food and beverages
and adults will go there for a gathering drink after a
hard day's work.

In TGIF, the food they served are all arranged in a unique
way that no other restaurant/cafe would use and the
food in their menu is unique too.

When we're sitting there, there is this lady and her group
of friends were taking photos of the interior and having group
photos. They are around twenties. So suddenly, there
is this lady saying that she is lazy to upload the photos
in Facebook. So we suddenly thought of an idea that why
not having a computer in a cafe.

From computers in the cafe, we developed into printing
services too. As when people are printing documents and etc,
there will be a waiting time so they can sit down at the
cafe and wait for the printing to be done. With the computers,
they can edit their documents immediately and print them
again. It's like killing two birds with a stone.

so by having computers or laptops in a cafe, people will be able to do more stuffs other than editing
and printing photographs. It widens to more people in the market- whereby they can surf net and check their mails and stuff.

By having this PEP cafe, we teach people how to use the printer the more professional way and our task is to have a gallery of all the photographs taken by photographers allows people to get more
exposure of photography.

Then ideas came coming in, we decided how about we do
a concept shop on a cafe with printing services. The printing
service will include document printing, photography printing,
poster, postcards and many more. Mostly targeting on youngster
like us to working adults. People will tend to attracted to this
cafe too as they is not a lot of cafes with such services in
Singapore. The interior design of the cafe is another main point
that attracts customers who is interested in photography. Cause
our theme of the cafe is black&white photography.

As we heard from Wendy; our lecturer; there is lots of freelance
photographers that don't have their own studios, and they
would hang out in places like this. So we thought of that the cafe
will attract them.

We will be doing digital and analogue printing services. Digital
is widely used in the market. While analogue is going soon to be
extinct, so we're trying to re-live the tradition of analogue printing.
